D Suneel (PhD) is Principal of Narasaraopeta Engineering College (NEC), and professor of its Mechanical Engineering department. He pursued his doctorate degree from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, in the year 2010. Currently, Suneel is teaching and conducting research in the fields of Metal Cutting and Machine Tool Design, Engineering Mechanics, Metal Matrix Nanocomposites, Nanofluids, Nano Coatings, Polymer Nanocomposites, and Nano Materials.
DrSuneel joined NEC as the head of the Mechanical Engineering department in the April of 2012 and helped the department get accredited by the NBA, the NAAC, and other autonomous committees. Before being part of Narasaraopeta Engineering College, Suneel worked in different academic layers of qualifications at GITAM University and K L University. In 2016, he was promoted to the position of Dean of the institution, and accorded the responsibility of Academic Affairs to pave the way for new programs for all-round growth and development of the college.
He has got more than thirty research papers published in reputed national and international journals. He supervised nine B Tech and four M Tech projects. He has attended twelve workshops and training programs at institutes of national repute such as IIT-Kanpur. He is a life-member of the Institution of Engineers, the ISTE, and the MRSI (Materials Research Society of India).
He was certified by Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc. on “High-Impact Presentation Skills,” and by Wipro Mission 10X on “Effective Teaching Methodologies.”
He delivered vital lectures on nanomaterials at other colleges in Andhra Pradesh and also organized a three-day national workshop on “Characterization & Synthesis of Nanomaterials” as a co-coordinator, in 2010 at the KL University. He also organized a three-week training program on AutoCAD in collaboration with CITD, sub-centre for mechanical engineering students of NEC & NIT, in Vijayawada in the year, 2012. He also was the convener of International Conference (NECICRTME-2015) organised at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NEC, in the year 2015.
With his experience, the research scholar became instrumental in getting a Research Recognition Centre for Mechanical Department approved by JNTU-Kakinada. He also brought a grant from
